Digitization course of musical manucripts at the Rovigo Conservatory by R. Deluca
Rovigo, 15-17 October 2024 - Raffaele Deluca, professor of musicological disciplines and scientific director of the Library of the Rovigo Conservatory of Music, welcomed the Syriac researcher P. Gajuo at the Rovigo Conservatory for an accelerated course in the digitization of musical manuscripts, of which he has been the promotor at the Conservatory. A scholar of ancient musical manuscripts and ancient books, he has collaborated and collaborates with numerous Italian historical and university libraries (Palatina of Parma, Trivulziana of Milan, University of Turin, Statale of Lucca, Leoni of Fidenza, San Petronio in Bologna) and Conservatories of Music (Milan, Bologna, Cuneo, Padua) where he has also been teaching in various capacities. He personally takes care of the cataloging in SBN and of the Digital Library of the Rovigo Conservatory Library.
The initiative to involve the Syriac researcher is part of the intention to consider specific metadata in musical manuscripts of a liturgical nature, which would allow for comparative studies between the various Christian traditions.
